United Senseless America
America is great; you have the right to exercise any of your first amendment rights whenever you wish. Thanks to government officials and U.S. Armed Forces you are free to utilize these rights anywhere.
These same government officials and U.S. soldiers that help protect these rights by dying in other countries are not being welcomed by a grateful nation. Instead, their poor families not only have to bury a loved one, they have to do it with a group of dim-witted people protesting. Then, what makes it worse is they use God as their excuse to protest.
I had the fortunate opportunity to encounter one of these annoying individuals while on the way back to Iraq. He knew I was military, I was in uniform, but it didn’t bother him and I was not inconvenienced either. I sat there and listened to him ramble on about the government and how we are just there to “Kill for Oil” and the usual phrases protesters used. I listened to him respectfully for about 30 minutes till it was time for me to leave. Then I simply stood up shook his hand and said “You’re welcome.” He looked puzzled for a moment then stammered “for what?” I modestly stated “for the ability to sit here in a public place and speak your mind freely.” He just smiled at me bewildered as I walked away. He was unsure of what to say, or maybe it’s because he is senseless.
